In February, I had the opportunity to partner with Belk & their corporate team to speak on hair discrimination in the workplace and the Crown Act.

This candid hair conversation was an extension of a previous episode of my podcast If This Chair Could Talk (go subscribe NOW 😜) & the daily discussions I have with my clients who work in corporate America!⁣

It saddens me to hear stories about their fears & experiences when it comes to how they can/can’t/should/shouldn’t wear their H A I R! To some, you are oblivious to this hair issue while others of you have been denied promotions, questioned publicly, and touched/pet without permission because of it. This is nothing NEW, it just will no longer be tolerated. The workplace should be a safe place. The need for R E A L, direct, and open conversations like these must be had to help educate companies on how such actions are often a direct reflection of how someone is valued in the workplace. Thanks to every curious person that came & asked questions and every brave person for sharing their personal stories. ⁣
